ACS Modular delivered a new Passenger Screening Facility at Cornwall Airport Newquay, forming a key extension to the airport’s terminal security infrastructure.
The facility was delivered within a live operational airport environment and comprised 14 modular units, creating a fully integrated screening area designed to increase passenger throughput and support future operational demand.
The Challenge
Cornwall Airport Newquay required a significant upgrade to its passenger screening capability, without disrupting ongoing airport operations. The project required a solution that could be delivered efficiently while managing the constraints of a busy airport environment.

The ACS Solution
ACS Modular delivered a fully integrated modular screening facility, comprising:
- 14 modular units forming a terminal extension
- 2 passenger screening lines
- Integration of TRS, EDS and full body scanners
- Full groundworks, fabrication, installation and integration
The facility was designed to align with the airport’s operational requirements while providing a modern, scalable screening environment.
Delivery
ACS adopted an off-site manufacturing approach, enabling the majority of the modular units to be constructed, coordinated and quality-checked prior to delivery.
This approach allowed:
- Reduced on-site construction activity
- Improved programme control and certainty
- More efficient installation within a constrained, live environment
Modules were delivered and installed in a controlled sequence, with careful coordination to ensure seamless integration into the existing terminal and minimal impact on ongoing operations.
